Some of you must be wondering what is going on..no beads just paintings?? I have just discovered this new alcohol painting technique and am busy experimenting with it. I will definitely make beads again, but I think I needed to do this after not painting or doing any other hobby for the last 11 years. I was never good at painting more abstract designs, I really believe that my bead making has given me the confidence to be brave and free :) So for now I hope you enjoy watching the progress along with me ..

Your paintings are lovely Astrid. I find that sometimes I need to take a break from making beads to re-charge my batteries, and I too have been taking up the paint brush and paint. Please keep showing us your paintings!
I completely understand your desire for a little change.
After 16 yrs of melting glass the segue to paper felt natural.
Unlike you, though, I won't be going back to glass as I sold everything.
I'm loving paper and am as excited about it as I was with glass.
So, my friend, do whatever "blows your hair back" and enjoy!
BTW, that flower is AMAZING!
