It is hard to scale down after making such enormous beads the last few days...

This bead is "only" 5cm x 1.5 cm

Another fun bead... Dragon's breath, holding the fire within...

I did say I was making BIG beads LOL This is a lot of fun, I have some ivory shards from Joe Avenue on my bead today, it has an interesting

effect with the opal yellow base.

size 45mm x 45mm x 13mm

This bead has so much sparkle, I used shards from Joe, the double sided goldstone and blue avenenturine shard and the dragons breath as well.

The blue shows up badly on the photo!

This bead is huge, I have a new tool from Jim Moore, so now I can't resist making the beads even larger, LOL this bead is 4.5cm x 4,3cm x 1.3cm deep

 

I have another bead with "dragons breath" shards from Joe Avenue!

This is the same bead both sides, so different!

This bead has such a lovely silver dichro shimmer,

but a little camara shy!!

I used shards from Joe Avenue, this one was the "silvered ivory"

I am so pleased I got try some of his shards at Portia's I think I might be hooked, you'll see some more this week

CHICAGO 2011

Three weeks of impressions, workshops, wonderful people and good food :)

My biggest thanks to Portia for hosting the workshops, she is one awesome lady, I could not have wished for a better introduction to America, I was thoroughly spoiled.

I have made new friends and I hope we will see eachother again :)

In the following few days want to share some of the impressions I captured, I hope you enjoy them.

Hello Chicago!

After leaving Johannesburg on Thursday evening, I finally set out for Chicago again! The last 2 weeks have been a drama, I only received my visa the day before I left, my nerves were finished! But 24 hours later I arrived in Chicago, so everybody can relax, I am here ;)
What an awesome city Chicago is, we spent a little time there yesterday, it will be something I will never forget!
So in just a few days the class will start, I can't wait it will be such fun. Portias home and studio is fabulous.
