Scanned instead of photographed, loses a little in texture but easier to do than photographing...

Jelly Babies..

December is my month for painting, I will be back with more beads in January ;)

30cm x21cm on sandblasted glass panel, matte side up.

I am doing the same face a few times to practice in the hope that they get better each time. This one is done on sandblasted glass, this is actually the medium I want to work on. I have mounted it with a sheet of white paper behind it, the depth of the glass makes the paint appear a bit 3 dimensional depending how the light falls on it.

Fantasy flower.

Some of you must be wondering what is going on..no beads just paintings?? I have just discovered this new alcohol painting technique and am busy experimenting with it. I will definitely make beads again, but I think I needed to do this after not painting or doing any other hobby for the last 11 years. I was never good at painting more abstract designs, I really believe that my bead making has given me the confidence to be brave and free :) So for now I hope you enjoy watching the progress along with me ..

Leap frog..

# 3 painting
In another life I would have loved to be an illustration artist, but I never had art at school and therefore I did not have the confidence to pursuit it at the time, so this is a wonderful opportunity to just have a bit of fun with a brilliant medium:)

Mokume gane bead

I love the mokume gane beads, they are happy beads :)

Psychedelic Bird!

The second Alcohol ink drawing on a ceramic tile..OMG this is an almost luminous painting  ;)
This one is done with Sharpie pens and alcohol, works like a charm.

Weathered Wood..

Something totally new from me, I have found a new hobby!
I was inspired by Alcohol Ink Art images from Pamella Radwan, but I haven't made any kind of painting in 11 years, and never done anything as free as this. I would like to show my first attempt from this morning on a white matte glazed tile that has been lying around here for 20 years, and they will come in very handy now :)
I only found earth tones in SA but I hope to either make my own bright inks soon if I can't find them here.

So please join me on my journey, I am a total beginner it will be interesting to see the progress.

And no I am definitely not giving up on my glass art ;)
